I am Sara's assistant during your sessions. This means I hold your things, make sure your faces are looking the right way, your hair is in the right place, your clothes aren't bunching and your kids are giving Sara their best smiles.
I have been known to poke Sara, mess with her hair, run around with Paw Patrol, Peppa, and Gymbo the clown. I tickle tummies, moms & dads, kids; no one is safe, and I do my best to get those nice smiles and the giggles so that your pictures and your experience with Sara is the best you could have.
After high school I knew that my calling was to work with kids and families and so I went to University and got a degree in social work. Once I graduated I worked as a child protection worker until I had a child of my own. I then had a home daycare for a couple of years and once my son, Henri, went to school I decided to go back to work part-time. I work with the little ones in school over their lunch and nap time and love being able to see them grow and flourish in a new environment.
Sara has been taking our family pictures for 4 years now and I love the way her sessions are set up and how relaxed and stress-free they are. Sara and I got along very well and when she needed some extra help behind the camera I jumped at the chance. I have been working with Sara for a little over one year now and I love being able to let my inner clown out to get kids, teenagers, and adults alike to laugh and have fun. I figure the more laughter there is, the better the session is.
When I am not being hilarious behind the camera I spend my free time with my son and partner, reading, cycling, playing, training and competing in powerlifting and riding my motorcycle.
My favorite part of my job is seeing the final pictures Sara gets and being able to look at those smiling faces and know that I had a part in marking this moment in time for your family. There is nothing like looking at your kid’s smile and thinking, ‘oh yeah, he really liked Paw Patrol’, or ‘this little one loved it when I poked Sara’, and so on.
I look forward to seeing you smile out there, whatever it takes.
